2. Philip Sloan, BDS, PhD, FRCPath, FRSRCS, is a Consultant Histopathologist at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne. Additionally, he is an Honorary Professor at the School of Dental Sciences, Newcastle University, UK.

3. Elizabeth D. Theaker, BDS, BSc, MSc, MPhil, is a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow in Oral Medicine and also serves as the Senior Tutor for Undergraduate Dental Studies at The University of Manchester, UK.
