 What is Coursera?

Coursera is an online platform that offers multiple and diverse learning options for medical students. It is easily accessible, flexible, has updated contents and practice for skill development. It enables medical students to equip themselves with latest advancements, connect with global community, and earn valuable certifications. Being online, Coursera is an easy and cost- effective way to supplement for medical education and enables continuous learning process.

Why do you need certificate?

Through these certificates, you can easily boost your CV and it will make a good impression to your interviewer. It will be useful while applying in residency for USMLE.

How to apply for a free certificate?

To apply for financial aid on Coursera, follow these steps:


  •  Create an account if you don't have one already.


2. Now, go through the search bar and search for courses you're interested in


                                           

3.. (Not all courses, but most of them offer financial aid, so look for the "Financial Aid Available" label on the course page.)

 Click on the "Financial Aid Available" link, which will take you to the Financial Aid application page.                        

                                              


5. Now you will be directed to a new screen that shows you the course information and no. of courses available if any. Now after selecting the course, click on NEXT.

    

6.Now you are in Coursera's Financial Aid application form. It will typically ask you to provide information about your educational background, employment status, and the reason why you're applying for financial aid. 

i would suggest you make yourself see as unemployed and "0" annual income though it doesn't matter.

                   Now, you will need to write a short statement explaining your financial situation and why you need assistance to take the course. Be honest and provide any relevant details that can support your request.

8. Now check the box that says -" I've reviewed my information, and Everything is up to date

9. Go to next form and you will see a box that says, "how much can you pay for your selected course?"

10. Now explain "how the selected course with help you with your goals?

11. After writing the application, click on the terms and conditions which says

I'm sharing accurate information on my application.

I commit to finishing my Coursera course.

12. Once you have filled out the application form, submit it for review. Keep in mind, Coursera will evaluate your application and notify you of their decision via email within 15 days.

so you have to wait for 15 days for the process to complete.

13. If your application is approved, you will receive an email with a link to enroll in the course for free.


financial aid is typically granted for a single course, and you'll need to reapply for each subsequent course you wish to take. {alertwarning}


14. If your application is denied, Coursera may suggest alternative options, such as auditing the course for free or exploring other financial assistance programs available.

        

            Remember, financial aid availability and eligibility criteria may vary depending on the course and your individual circumstances. It's always best to review the specific requirements and guidelines provided by Coursera during the application process.

After getting enrolled, you have to finish all the assessments. Some may be writings; some may be multiple choices and fill in the blanks.

After you complete all your tasks, you'll be considered as eligible  for certification.
